Guidelines to godly living

Living a godly life is not as difficult as people make it sound. A godly living is living one’s life in line with guideline principles laid down by God for all true believers.

Living a godly life will make us inherit eternal life; we must therefore understand the factors needed to inherit eternal life.

“You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for Himself” Psalms 4:3A. (NLT)

The place where the souls of bad people bad people are believed to be punished after death, especially in the Christian and Muslim religions. (Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English)

“And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell” Matthew 18: 9 (NLT)

“If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one hand than to go to into unquenchable fires of hell with two hands” Mark 9: 43 (NLT)

God's Judgment of Sins

“But God shows His anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities- His eternal power and divine nature. So they have not excuse for not knowing God” Romans 1:18-20 (NLT)

In this opening verse, Paul makes us understand the purpose of accepting responsibilities. There is no excuse for the sins we commit. There is no one on earth except a little baby who would claim not to know what connotes sins. We can only try to pretend not to know the commandments that God has laid down for us.

Paul makes us to understand in this verse that since God created the earth, people have been given the ability to know what is right from wrong and because of the great creations of God; everyone has been given the ability to know who God is! This is why God will not spare sinners who have refused to change from the sinful ways.

The Lord's Commandments

The rules given by God in the Bible that tell people how they must behave.

These commandments can be found both in the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Bible.

"I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery" Exodus 20: 2. In the Old Testament God gave the Ten Commandments through Moses in the book of Exodus.

What is Pride

A feeling that you are proud of something that you or someone connected with you has achieved. To be especially proud of something that you do well, or of a good quality that you have (LONGMAN Dictionary of Contemporary English)

The wicked are too proud to seek God. They seem to think that God is dead. Psalm 10: 4(NLT)

"All who fear the Lord will hate evil. Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech" Proverbs 8:13 (NLT)

"Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall" Proverbs 16: 18 (NLT)

"Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor" proverbs 29: 23 (NLT)

What is sin?

Sin is doing something that is against the Laws given by God to Christians in both the Old and New Testaments of the bible.

The first place where sin was in the bible is in Genesis 4:7, “You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master” (NLT). Here God has already made us understand that we need to what is right, contrary to doing right means sin. He made us understand too that sin should be allowed to be a master over us, meaning that even though we do sin, but we must learn not to dwell in sin, when we sin unknowingly, we must quickly plead for forgiveness of sin and try to live above it, it says we should subdue sin and be its master.

Judgment Day

Judgment day is the last day of the world when all people will be judged by God for what they have done. Both those who have done well and those that did badly will be judged. Anything that is bad is Sin.

One of the major reasons why people sin is Pride, Isaiah said in the book of Isaiah chapter 2:11-12 (NLT). “Human pride will be brought down, and human arrogance will be humbled. Only the Lord will be exalted on that Day of Judgment. For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has a day of reckoning. He will punish the proud and mighty and bring down everything that is exalted”

What is pride?, a feeling that you are proud of something that you or someone connected with you has achieved. It was pride that brought down Lucifer also known as the devil from heaven. Lucifer was one of God’s best angels, the head of the choir before his fall. He was a very beautiful creature, but when his pride made him revolt against God, he became a very ugly creature and was sent down away from the glory of heavens. Pride leads to all kinds of sins; adultery, fornication, stealing, and cheating.

Keys to Success

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13

People who believe in fate are living in fear and not on the principles of faith. A child of God does not cast his or her destiny on luck. Subjecting your success to the game of chance is subverting your great potentials to excel in life. Success is more often than not the product of hard work. A youth who is living a purposeful life will not indulge in sinful pleasures. Never place your destiny on luck. Live by faith with full assurance that you are destined to make it.

Living to excel in life demands that you live a life of purpose. You need to discover what you are living for and what drives you. No Christian boy or girl can really perform excellently if he or she is not hungry for success. Your maximum potentials will emerge when you discover the key to success. To excel you need the strength of mind and thoroughness in all you do.

Giving Grace: Key to Career and Business Breakthrough

Those who will be great in covenant are kingdom builders; in fact what God is looking for is kingdom builders.

Pastor Adeboye shared a testimony of when The Redeem Church needed some money for a project in the church and one of his spiritual-sons came to him and said “Daddy God told me to give the church N25million, and how the same person called after just about 2 months to say how God has blessed him. Guess how much he said God gave him after giving the church N25 million, God gave him $25million (N380million) that is a kingdom builder not a stingy-covenant person!

I am not a terrorist I can't sponsor terrorists, I am a covenant man I want to see covenant prevail in my generation.

Let's look at Luke chapter five for example of how breakthrough occurs (I pray that the yoke of selfishness will be smashed in your life forever in the name of Jesus Christ)

Prayer Power (Job 14:7-8)

Message By Pastor Yemi Davids

Written By Charles Oluyori

“Greatness is a function of wisdom; the wiser you are the better you live, a man is not old until he stops learning; learning therefore is the key to greatness. Join Yemi Davids on the journey into the world of greatness. Achieve Greatness!

Thank God for that scripture; it is likened to a tree that has dried up and has stopped producing fruit. But as we worship Him, a fresh pipe is now attached to the tree and water is supply and the tree that was just dry suddenly began to produce and I saw flourishing.

Job 14:7 “Even a tree has more hope! If it is cut down, it will sprout again and grow new branches. Though its roots have grown old in the earth and its stump decays, at the scent of water it will bud and sprout again like a new seedling.”

It was this scent of water that I saw that was now re-connected to that dyeing tree and now that tree will sprout again in the name of Jesus Christ to produce fruit again, halleluiah!
