Angel

Who is an Angel?

An angel is generally a supernatural being found in various religions and mythologies. In Abrahamic religions and Zoroastrianism, angels are often depicted as benevolent celestial beings who act as intermediaries between God or Heaven and Earth. Other roles of angels include protecting and guiding human beings, and carrying out God's tasks. Within Abrahamic religions, angels are often organized into hierarchies, although such rankings may vary between sects in each religion, and are given specific names or titles, such as Gabriel or "Destroying angel". The term "angel" has also been expanded to various notions of spirits or figures found in other religious traditions. The theological study of angels is known as "angelology".

In fine art, angels are usually depicted as having the shape of human beings of extraordinary beauty; they are often identified using the symbols of bird wings, halos, and light.

Hey Stop! Don’t Revenge!!

Vengeance is mine, says the Lord.

Many of us like to take revenge on someone or people who have offended us or someone or people who hurts us one way or the other, but God says we should not revenge that He will avenge for us.

I won’t even try to behave like a hypocrite in this discourse because there are many times I have truly desperately wanted to avenge what someone or some people did to me. Some things done to us can be very hurtful that we want to take revenge by all means.

Let Your “Yes” Be “Yes” and Your “No” Be “No”

Swearing and making vows in the name of God or anything else is a sin. Let whatever you say be binding by your words and not by vows. Do everything you say you will do by meaning it, without necessarily making vows or swearing.

I have seen many instances where people swear just to make their words stand before the hearer or listener. Maybe I have been guilty of this in the past when I was not enlightened. This again is why I always emphasize that people should study their bible all the time; it is the only true way of life!

Power of the Tongue

By Pastor Yemi Davids

You are a creature of value. God have deposited seeds of greatness within you. We must have a vision for total life success- family, finance, health etc

Nothing great happens by accident- it is a function of right principles applied.

There are various laws of greatness; we have talked about vision; growth- that is personal development.

Today we want to talk about the law of the tongue. The words of today are the harvest of tomorrow. We are created in the image of God and our words create or recreate our world.

Until you are able to tame your tongue you are not ready to build a great life. Everyone will eat the fruit of their sayings, its just a matter of time.

Some Bible Interpretations Many Don’t Know

1. God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied. (Matthew 5:6)

Now you have to understand this; it is not a bad defending the rights of others, protecting other people is not a bad cause, though some people may misinterpret your cause; a lot people are of the mindset that it is not your business to defend others, they will say, “What is your own business there?” In fact some people even see you defending yourself as bad. They want you to just keep shut when you are cheated, you shouldn’t ask for justice.

Yet the Bible says you are blessed when you hunger and thirst for justice because you will be satisfied.

To be satisfied means you will get justice, it means you will get the desired results from that petition.

If You Remarry After Divorce, You Have Committed Adultery- Bible

As you already know, adultery is sex between someone who is married and someone who is not their wife or husband.

The dangers of adultery was explained by Jesus in Matthew 5:27- 31. Today Jesus explains further that anyone who divorces his wife unless she was unfaithful leads the woman into committing adultery and anyone who marries a divorced woman also commits adultery.

What is Adultery?

Adultery is sex between someone who is married and someone who is not their wife or husband.

This act is different from fornication; sex between two unmarried people. While adultery is committed by two parties (a man and woman) which one must be married or the both are married. Fornication is done between persons who are not married or one unmarried (the fornicator) and the other married (adulterer or adulteress).

Remarrying after Divorce is Adultery
Having said this, there is a need for you to know that it’s not only physical intercourse with a man or woman that is regarded as adultery.

Watch What You Say!

“You have heard that our ancestors were told, ‘you must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’ But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell” Matthew 5:21-22 (NLT)

I am one of the people guilty of what the bible is saying here. When I get angry I say things that I shouldn’t say and sometimes even use some curse words.

A Peacemaker is rewarded

When you help people settle their disputes you are a child of God.

If you are someone who loves making peace with people, note that you are blessed because you are a child of God.

Yes, because, “Curse” is the direct opposite of “Bless”. If for instance you don’t call me a tall guy, then I am a short.

Only the Holy Will See God

Sin repeals God but holiness attracts Him. (Read Heaven and Hell is Real) to understand this concept better.

There is no way you can be living in sin and expect to see God.

Seeing God can be in two forms:
  1. Seeing God when you have died and gone to the land beyond
  2. Seeing God now in the things that pertains to your life

Show Mercy to Others

Many people are cruel and wicked to others and yet they love to be shown mercy!

An armed robber who goes to a house, rape all the women in the house, kill the head of the house and steal away millions, appears before a court and pleads for mercy. Was he merciful to those poor innocent household?

A man, very rich with all the goods of life oppresses the poor man who is in need of food to eat; the rich man call his dogs to chase the hungry man who only came to beg for a few morsel of food to eat.

A Just Person Will Be Rich

Matthew 5:6 “God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied”

It is good to fight for justice and rights of others.

Before I understood this bible portion I use to think those “Human Rights Activist” are just fighting a “Cause” of their own.

But my understanding now is different; fighting for justice was one of the commissions given by Jesus Christ to His followers.

In Matthew 5:6 while teaching his followers, Jesus said “God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied” (NLT)

Adam the First Man

Adam was the first man created by God about 6000 years ago on the sixth day of God’s creation.

The universe and animals had first been created by God before He made Adam from the dust of the ground.

Adam was the one that named the animals and also his wife who was created by God using one of Adam’s ribs.

God placed Adam in charge of the Garden of Eden where he farmed the land and watched over the place as instructed by God.

However God instructed Adam and his wife, Eve not to eat from a certain tree in the garden, “Tree of the knowledge of good and evil”

Laws of Favor (The Laws of Skill)

By Pastor Yemi Davids

Written by Charles Oluyori

Solomon said, “Seethe thou a man skillful in his business, he shall stand before kings and not mean men”

This is basic; where you stand tomorrow is how well you can do your job. I have personally discovered that favor has a lot to do with recommendations.

All you need is the word of God

Little wonder each time I read the word of God, I feel satisfied, like I have eaten a real food, I get a new kind of energy; I discover new things, secrets of life; how to be a happy and happier person. How to make wealth, how to prosper in life, and how to overcome situations, problems, people and times.

But before today I thought what makes me feel those things I mentioned are because I read the word of God and probably because it’s just the word of God.

To my surprise I discover this morning that it is truly because it is the word of God. Ezekiel narrated how God gave him His word which was written on a scroll and God asked him to eat it.

I Saw More Women in Hell; Any Woman That Uses Make-up, False Hair, Trousers will go to Hell- Sister Linda’s Testimony

Linda Ngaujah narrates how she was attacked by demons in hell after she died on Friday, 15th February, 2013. She recounts her life as a wayward Christian, how she hated men of God who preached holiness.

In her encounter after her death she was taken to hell where she was tormented by demons before she was rescued by the Lord Jesus Christ. She recounts how the Lord Jesus showed her only three men of God in Sierra Leone who would go to heaven.

Sister Linda starts her testimony like this:

God's warning about False Prophets

"I have not sent these prophets, yet they run around claiming to speak for me. I have given them no message, yet they go on prophesying. If they had stood before me and listened to me, they would have turned my people from their evil ways and deeds" Jeremiah 23: 21-22

This is true, many prophets predicts about things that are not relevant to their own countries or society. In the old, the prophets of the Old Testament particularly when there is a terrible situation in the country like the issue of Boko Haram threats that Nigeria is facing today. The people run back to the prophet, who in turn goes to God for answer. But our prophets today don?t see anything other than money, and prosperity!

Fake Prophets and their Fake Prophecies

"Do not listen to these prophets when they prophesy to you, filling you with futile hopes. They are making up everything they say. They do not speak for the Lord!

"They keep saying to those who despise my word (politicians, murderers, corrupt leaders) "Don't worry! The Lord says you will have peace! And to those who stubbornly follow their own desires, (thieves, liars, haters, gossips, jealous neighbors and friends, schemers, backbiters) they say, "No harm will come your way!"

Prayer For Help!

"Lord you know what's happening to me. Please step in and help me. Punish my persecutors! Please give me time; don't let me die young. It's for your sake that I am suffering. When I discovered your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, O Lord God of Heaven's Armies.

"I never joined the people in their merry feasts. I sat alone because your hand was on me. I was filled with indignation at their sins.

Our Actions Has Rewards

Every action we take in life has its reward, when we put efforts into developing our skills, it may not yield immediate result, but will some time if we don't give up. The same way we may not see the result of our continuous wickedness on time, but with time it will definitely show up.
God was speaking to Jeremiah, an old Prophet in the land of Judah, He said:

Are You Still Putting Your Hope in Mere Man?

If you are still putting your trust on that uncle or on that great connection you have or your money and skills, yes it may work for you now, but please while using those great resources, put your trust in God or else they will fail you someday!

Unless you believe in God, having only your trusts on him alone, and also making good use of those connections, skills and hard work, knowing that he is one who gives them to you, therefore you will not do anything that will displease him, you will not turn your heart from him, you will do all he has commanded.

By refusing to trust in God and trusting your connections with people, see what is likely to happen..

A Hypocrite

Hypocrites are liars, slanderers and dishonest people. A hypocrite is someone who pretends to have certain beliefs or opinions that they do not really have. Hypocritical is behaving in a way that is different from what you claim to believe (Longman dictionary of contemporary English)

In his letter to Timothy a leader of the church during his time, Paul said in 1 Timothy 4:1-4 (NLT) , "Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.

Dangers of adultery and false prophecies

My heart is broken because of the false prophets and my bones tremble. I stagger like a drunkard, like someone overcome by wine, because of the holy words the Lord has spoken against them.

For the land is full of adultery, and it lies under a curse. The land itself is in mourning- its wilderness pastures are dried up. For they do evil and abuse what power they have.

‘Even the priests and prophets are ungodly, wicked men. I have seen their despicable acts right here in my own Temple, “Says the Lord. Therefore, the paths they take will become slippery.

Why you should not be discouraged!

Category: Daily Inspirational

When the Israelites  returned to Judah after being taken captive for several years during the time of Prophet Nehemiah, they discovered that the walls of their city had been destroyed by their enemies. A message was sent to Nememiah who was serving under King Aterxerses about the state of things in Jerusalem.

Nehemiah prayed and fasted that the king would grant his request to go down to Jerusalem to build the walls, the king granted his request and he went and started the work. As he commenced the work, some people came to discourage, they mocked him, particularly Samballat and Gesham (They were enemies of God). There are many Samballats and Geshams in our world today. They will come in different forms to discourage you when you are making progress in your career, your business and projects.

Godliness is profitable

Written By Kunle Oluyori

When God’s place is intact, other things fall in line.

Your relationship with God is more than money; it’s more than any other thing.

God wants to be sure that He is your priority, when that is in place every other thing will be alright.

Without your relationship with God in shape, there will be danger ahead.

All Leaders; Governors, Senators, Presidents Must be able to Say this (1 Samuel 11)

It is not only the time you serve in a office that matters, it is also important what your life after a political office position is like, when you have retired or completed your terms of office, is very important. Be you a civil servant, or a political office holder, it matters what people say or think of you after your office term ends.

What will people say about you? Will they say, that thief, will the law enforcement be chasing after you like a mere criminal? Or will the people say, we wish this person remains in this position, oh we wish this position does not have tenure so this man can continue his good work, or we wish he doesn’t get old so that he can continue his good work.

The Keys to Business and Career Breakthrough

Written By Charles Oluyori

Life is a function of personal adventure, the wiser you are, the better you live. Greatness is a function of wisdom"

Any organization that will be great has to take responsibility by itself. The greatness of any organization is not going to come from outside it; it's going to come from within it. The global impact mandate- the greatness mandate will not be achieved through any outside ministry, no one will help us to achieve it, we have to take responsibility by ourselves if we must realize the global impact mandate.

That's why I believe that God is calling us to impact and to impart men and women in the church for the global impact effect and I want everyone to take it serious. But what I must say is this, "the duty of a lecturer is to ensure that he lectures his students, but who will succeed in the class is not the lecturer's responsibility but that of the students".
