Heaven is Real, Hell is Real

At a time I use to think heaven isn't, even though I have always known that death is real but then, I thought once dead, the remains or soul of the dead, just stay somewhere in that dark, cold grave forever where the flesh will rot and decay!

Don't blame me for thinking like this, prior to this time, no preacher or teacher has ever been able to teach the subject of heaven clearly to me in the manner that I will have a good understanding of what it is. Heaven to them is a place full of enjoyment, where born again Christians will go to when the die on this earth.

Well, there’s heaven but before you can understand the concept of heaven, you must first understand the concept of creation and recreation that is only when you can understand the true existence of heaven!

Repentance Brings Forgiveness and Favor

When Zerubabel son of Shealtiel and Jesua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the whole remnant of God’s people began to obey the message from the Lord their God. When they heard the words of prophet Haggai, whom the Lord their God had sent, the people feared the Lord. Then Haggai, the Lord’s messenger gave the people this message from the Lord. “I am with you says the Lord!”

God delights in the repentance of a sinner. It doesn’t matter the kind of sin you have committed in the past, it could have been “Advanced Fee Fraud (419)”, stealing, murder, etc.). Once you realize you have sinned, you call upon the name of the Lord, He is willing to forgive, but if you refuse to repent of your sins, continuous stagnation is inherent.

Everything belongs to God

The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies” Haggai 1:8

Why do you claim to own the world, why are you comparing yourself to God because you have some material resources?

God says He is the owner of everything, praise be His name forever, amen!

Why Sin Repeals God

During the time of Prophet Haggai, God Almighty sent the prophet to the Israelites to warn them of their sins and the need for them to repent, the same way He is sending me to you today to warn you about your sins.

He told the prophet that the Israelites are sinning and because of their sins, He has caused them so much hardship.

The same way the Lord is telling us, Nigerians today that He is punishing us because of our sins, sins of adultery, fornication, and stealing, cheating, lying and fraudulent transactions.

Testimony: How my 10-year-old Son Was Almost killed At a Neighbor’s Child Birthday Party!

This happened on April 21, 2011, over a year ago now in Surulere, Lagos state.

A family friend’s son was celebrating his tenth year birthday. As usual my kids attend their birthday parties just like their kids attend my kid’s.

It was a Saturday and I was busy doing some house chores and so when Olaolu came to seek permission for them to attend the birthday party I was glad for them to go, at least that will enable me to finish the works before they came back.

After some hours I went with my husband to pick the boys from our family friend’s residence in an estate beside ours. As we approached the building, my older son Olaolu rushed and opened the car’s door, crying

“Mummy it’s Teni, its Teni oh”.

Who is God?

The Lord is a jealous God, filled with vengeance and wrath. He takes revenge on all who oppose Him and continues to rage against His enemies!” Nahum 1: 2
That is to say God does not accept idolatry in any form. He is jealous and will harm those who worship any other god(s) apart from Him.

Why is He angry? He is angry because He is the Creator of you and He demands that you worship Him and only Him and no other god(s).

“The Lord is slow to get angry, but His power is great and He never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays His power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath His feet”

God Does Not Need your Offering, but Your Humility and Obedience

“What can we bring to the Lord? What kind of offerings should we give Him? Should we bow before God with offerings of yearling calves? Should we offer Him thousands of rams and ten thousand rivers of olive oil? Should we sacrifice our firstborn children to pay for our sins?” Micah 6:6-7

Some people are quick to think they can go to church on Sunday and bribe God with their offerings of money and gifts to take away their sins. They see God like a being who is happy when gifts are brought before Him. How funny, because God is the maker of all things so He can as well get whatever He needs if He needs them.

How God Can Turn your Misery into Hope

Like many of us, I have been miserable a lot of time. I have been miserable at countless number of times in my life. I have been sorrowful, sad, despair and thought life was meaningless. Just like the writer of Micah who said in Micah 7:1

“How miserable I am! I feel like the fruit picker after the harvest who can find nothing to eat. Not a cluster of grapes or a single early fig can be found to satisfy my hunger” Micah 7:1

What can be as bad as what Micah describes in this verse? It’s a total hopeless situation and yet he puts his trust in God that after all is said and done, God will come to his rescue and save him.

Prayer for Protection

O Lord, protect Your people with Your shepherd’s staff; lead your flock, your special possession. Though they live alone in a thicket on the heights of Mount Carmel, let them graze in the fertile pastures of Bashan and Gilead as they did long ago.

God’s response, “Yes”, says the Lord, “I will do mighty miracles for you, like those I did when I rescued you from slavery in Egypt” Micah 7: 15-16

So when you cry out to the Lord, He will answer you and do miraculous things in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer For Deliverance

“O Lord, oppose those who oppose me. Fight those who fight against me. Put on Your armor, and take up Your shield. Prepare for battle, and come to my aid. Lift up Your spear and javelin against those who pursue me.Let me hear you say, “I will give you victory!”

Bring shame and disgrace on those trying to kill me; turn them back and humiliate those who want to harm me.

Blow them away like chaff in the wind- a wind sent by the angel of the Lord. Make their path dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord pursuing them.

Why you Need to Teach People about God

In the Book of Jonah, God sent Jonah to Nineveh to preach to the people about the dangers of not honoring Him and keeping His commandments.

Jonah instead of going to Nineveh ran away in the opposite direction to Tarshish.

While in the ship going to Tarshish, the ship encountered great turbulence due to harsh storm that took over the sea.

The sailors later discovered that Jonah was responsible for this turbulence and storm on the sea.

Murmuring and Complaining

Many of us murmur and complain too much and too often.

Instead of thanking God for our situations we would stay and grumble and complain all the much that we can.

God hates our complaining and grumbling. He is displeased with our continuous ingratitude.

In Exodus He punished the Israelites severally for their complaining and grumbling in the wilderness and they spent 40 years traveling for a journey that should last only 40 days. How awesome!

In the book of Jonah 3 and 4. After Jonah had preached to the people of Nineveh and they repented, God decided not to punish and destroy them has He initially planned to.

God's judgment against the rich oppressors

Many rich and wealthy people are wicked and insincere in their dealings with people particularly the poor and needy.

I have seen neighbors that just because they bought a second-hand car become very arrogant to the extent that they oppress their other neighbors who have no car.

The bible has this to say about such people, “What sorrow awaits you who lie awake at night, thinking up evil plans. You rise at dawn and hurry to carry them out, simply because you have the power to do so” Micah 2:1

Reward of Pride (Ezekiel 28:2B)

God's Warning For People who Patronize False Prophets

“Don’t say such things”, the people respond. “Don’t prophesy like that. Such disaster will never come our way!”

When you preach the true word of God to them, telling them the curses of God on prostitutes, God’s judgment on wicked people, murderers and other sinners, they will tell you that it is not true, that such cannot happen to them even though they continue in their evil ways and deeds.

God is asking, “Should you take talk that way, family of Israel? Will the Lord’s Spirit have patience with such behavior? If you would do what is right, you would find my words comforting” Micah 2:7

Judgment For The Wicked Leaders

You wicked leaders the only time you remember God is when you are seeking elections into political offices. Then, you run after men of God seeking their prayers to God to help you win.

The truth is that an anointed man of God can pray for anyone and they will receive answer from God what he asks for, but what will sustain that blessing is you keeping the commandments of God. Obeying His instructions and doing what is right.

God says, “Listen you leaders of Israel! (Nigerian leaders) you are supposed to know right from wrong, but you are the very ones who hate good and love evil. You skin my people alive and tear the flesh from their bones” Micah 3: 1-2

Message For The False Prophets

This is what the Lord says: “you false prophets are leading my people astray! You promise peace for those who give you food, but you declare war on those who refuse to feed you” Micah 3:5

Yes you Nigerian pastors are leading the people astray, you confuse the people with your false prophesy, they are not following God’s commandment because of your vague promises you make to them.

Have you noticed that anywhere in the bible where God is warning leaders, He also warns the pastors and false prophets? Sometimes I wonder if these pastors and Bible researchers notice this parts of the bible at all or if they do and just ignore it.

Why a Woman Should Not Disrespect Her Husband

“Listen to me, you fat cows living in Samaria, you women who oppress the poor and crush the needy, and who are always calling to your husbands, “Bring us another drink!” The Sovereign Lord has sworn this by His holiness: “The time will come when you will be led away with hooks in your noses. Every last one of you will be dragged away like a fish on a hook!” Amos 4: 1-2 (NLT)

Why you Should Not Oppress the Poor and Needy

After oppressing the poor and crushing those in need, people still have the heart to go to the house of God to give offerings and offer sacrifices. Isn’t that a waste of precious time and resources?

Okay, you want to know if it is a waste of time or not, then read Amos 4: 4-5 (NLT)

“Go ahead and offer sacrifices at Gilgal (at your church, your places of worship). Offer sacrifices each morning and bring your tithes every three days- present your bread made with yeast as an offering of thanksgiving. Then give your extra voluntary offerings so you can brag about it everywhere! This is the kind of thing you Israelites (you Christians) love to do, “says the Sovereign Lord”

What will Happen to the unrepentant Sinner

“I brought hunger to every city and famine to every town. But still you would not return to me” says the Lord. “I kept the rain from falling when your crops needed it most. I sent rain on one town but withheld it from another. Rain fall on one field, while another field withered away. People staggered from town to town looking for water, but there was never enough. But still you would not return to me,” Says the Lord. Amos 4:6-8 (NLT)

Oh unrepentant sinner, murderers, jealous and envious neighbors, liars, cheats, prostitutes, how much more signs do you need from God for you to change from your sinful ways of life. He said He has punished you with disease, set-backs, and many bad things of life but you would not change.

Amos 4:9 (NLT), “I struck your farms and vineyards with blight mildew. Locusts devoured all your figs and olive trees (your houses burnt, your cars had accident, you lost your jobs), but still you would not return to me” says the Lord. (With all of these punishments and disasters that the Lord has brought upon you, you still refuse to be repentant, you refuse to acknowledge the Almighty God”

Repent From your Wicked ways

“Can horses gallop over boulders? Can oxen be used to plow them? But that’s how foolish you are when you turn justice into poison and sweet fruit of righteousness into bitterness. And you brag about your conquest of Lo-debar. You boast, “Didn’t we take Karnaim by our strength? But all the sinners will die by the sword- all those who say, ‘Nothing bad will happen to us” Amos 6:12, 9:10 (NLT)

Can you keep on sinning and expect grace to abound? Can you keep on cheating people and expect that things will continually be good for you? Repent of your sins now, God is calling you to repentance that is the only way out for you.

“Now this is what the Lord says to the family of Israel: “Come back to me and live! Come back to the Lord and live! Otherwise, He will roar through Israel like a fire, devouring you completely. Your gods in Bethel won’t be able to quench the flames” Amos 5:4,5-6 (NLT)

The Hypocrites and Pretenders

There are too many hypocritical Christians and religious people in the world today. Truly hypocrites have been in existence since the time of the old. Amos a farmer was sent by God Almighty to warn hypocrites to change their ways. Even Jesus Christ our Lord and savior warned against hypocrites in the New Testament.

A lot of Christians are pretenders and hypocrites, they are saints when they are in church but check them out when they get to their homes, they are something else. They know how to give millions as offerings in the church but cannot give hundred naira to a beggar on the street.

Pastor Anita Ebhodaghe

Formerly Rev. Anita Odegwa Oyakhilome, she was a pioneer member of the Christ Embassy Church, where she was the Vice President of the Believer's LoveWorld Inc., and the Pastor in charge of the church's United Kingdom branches, until the crisis between her and her former husband, Chris Oyakhilome, which eventually led to their divorce in 2016.

Anita was among those who started the ministry which used to be a campus fellowship, known as Believer’s Love World Fellowship, BLW (now Believers’ LoveWorld Inc.) at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in Edo State.

Curse and Punishment For the Proud and Arrogant

Believe it or not there is reward for being arrogant and proud. The Lord says to Edom, “I will cut you down to size among the nations; you will be greatly despised. You have been deceived by your own pride because you live in a rock fortress and make your home high in the mountains. ‘Who can ever reach us way up here?’ you ask boastfully” Obadiah 2 (NLT)

So many people are often too proud because of their material possession, position and influence that they see themselves as extra-ordinary people and become very boastful. They say they are untouchable, they are invincible, and they in fact almost compare themselves to God Almighty in their boastful and arrogance pride!

Prayer for the Forgiveness of Sin

As a child of God you get to sin at one time or the other. The Bible in the Book of Ecclesiastes 7: 20 say “Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins”. So no man should claim to be a saint. As long as God does not permit deliberate sinning, He is also aware that as human we will sin but what is expected of us when we sin is to quickly repent and ask God for forgiveness.

Jonah sinned against God by not obeying His command to go to Nineveh to preach to the people. After realizing his sin of disobedience to the Almighty God, Jonah repented and prayed this prayer:

God punishes all sins

Most people think as soon as they confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior everything instantly changes physically for them, even if they had been hired assassins, armed robbers and prostitutes.

Unfortunately, God doesn’t work like that. Now that you are Born-again, God has truly forgiven you and He will bless you because He says, He will bless those who follow Him and obeys His commandments.

But let me disappoint you a little so that when you become Born-again and haven’t don’t receive immediate miracle you won’t backslide like many so-called Christians today.

Beware of the Company you Keep

The companies we keep can either help us through life to achieve success or can put us in serious troubles and danger and can set us back in life.

Places we go to and people we interact with can put us in serious problems both spiritually and physically.

Let me tell you a little story before I continue the subject of this message: In the Old Testament God used several prophets and ordinary people to carry out His work. Some of these people and prophets went through great ordeals to deliver the work of God.

For instance, Jeremiah was severally arrested by the people and sometimes thrown into well and jail because he was sent by God to deliver His judgment to the people of Israel. Attempt was made severally on His life but he obeyed God all through.

Why People Fail to Know God

So many people deliberately refuse to acknowledge God, they respect the devil and his antiques because of the fear of the evil he can do to them. They fail to realize that devil is unable to do anything to a child of God except if God permits it.

As it is, devil is unable to act independently on a child of God without the knowledge of God. Sometimes, God permits the devil to tempt His child to test him to see if he would deny Him, backslide and follow the devil.

Re: Message for the Prostitute

On 26th of June 2012 I was studying the word of God. I regularly teach people about what God says in the bible. And so I was studying Hosea 2 about the curses of God on prostitutes; while still studying the chapter, the word of God came to me about a prostitute I use to know long ago.

The spirit of the Lord led me to send Hosea 2 to her. I think God wants to save her from an impending danger which she will likely fall into if she fails to stop prostituting.

I sent the chapter of Hosea to her and the next day she replied with text asking to know who I am. I didn’t not reply her messages. She called several times but I did not pick her calls. I was not instructed by God to speak with but to send her the message.

Testimony: How God used me to heal my mother

Anyone can be used by God for his miracles, you don't have to be a registered pastor or prophet for God to use you for his miracles, all you need is believe and faith in God.

Some time last two months ago, my younger brother called me to inform me that my mom’s state of health was very bad, that she was very sick and her health was deteriorating.

As soon as he told me I was afraid, I didn’t want any of my family members to die. I started praying in my heart that nothing happens to her.

The Punishment For your Enemies

Those enemies who God have allowed to oppress you over a period of time because of your sins will receive their punishments from God when you have repented of your sins. In the Book of Joel chapter 3 from verse 1 to 3 says:

“At the time of those events,” says the Lord, “When I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather the armies of the world (your enemies, problems, difficult situations you have experienced) into the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will judge them for harming my people, my special possession, for scattering my people among the nations, and for dividing up my land. They cast lots to decide which of my people would be their slaves. They traded boys to obtain prostitutes and sold girls for enough wine to get drunk”
